Salon d'Hercule

The top 75% of this panorama is of the painted ceiling in the Hercules Salon and the lower quarter is a painting covering an entire wall of the room, which connects the King’s apartments and the Royal Chapel. As mentioned earlier, conveying scale with these photos is insufficient; the room is impossibly large. I can only imagine the sense of awe that filled anyone privileged enough to be invited to Versailles during the Ancien Régime.
