Space Shuttle Discovery Panorama
For years, the [Space Shuttle Enterprise](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Shuttle_Enterprise) sat in this spot at the [Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center](https://airandspace.si.edu/udvar-hazy-center) out in Chantilly, Virginia. The Enterprise never went to space; it instead served as a test flight vehicle. In 2012, after the ending of the United States' space shuttle program, the [Space Shuttle Discovery](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Shuttle_Discovery) was put on display in place of the Enterprise. During its 27 years of service, Discovery spent 365 days in space and flew nearly 150 million miles.
